Hi, my name is Beatrice Eli

I AM BEATRICE ELI
I’m a 28 year old singer, songwriter, performer, producer and femme activist from Stockholm, Sweden.

EVERYTHING STARTED WITH:

MTV! Me and my sister were obsessed. We would watch MTV everyday after school, competing who knew the songs first. MTV gave me the foundation and feed my fascination for music and music videos.

YOUR MOTIVATION + INSPIRATION:

Rudie Edwards, Madonna, teenage queers that I see on the streets of Stockholm. My girlfriend. Bladerunner and Jackie Brown.

YOUR SOUND IN A FEW WORDS:

Right now I’m very into what I call post-disco post-punk. But the core to everything I do is ‚quality pop‘.

ABOUT “DIE ANOTHER DAY”:

It’s an album about sexuality, heartbreak, depression, drugs and girls.

„I want to create a space for the women who listen to the album, and if they feel like identifying with what I sing about, I would love that.“

WHAT’S NEXT:

I’m working on the follow up to Die Another Day while doing shows here and there. Actually I’ll be in Berlin on the 29th of May at the Berlin Festival, you should all come!

YOUR SONG FOR THE MOMENT:

‚Take Me To Church‘ is the best song I’ve heard in a long time.

WHAT WOULD YOU’VE BEEN, IF YOU WOULDN’T BE A SINGER?

I’d do something else that’s creative and almost impossible to live on haha.

TELL US A SECRET:

I used to play World Of Warcraft.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST: YOUR QUESTION

I’ve heard German lesbians don’t dance. Is that true and if it is what can I do to change that?
